36 Come What May x Blogshop models x Funny stuff

Life's been a mess recently, and I don't know what I'm doing. But I do know I need anger management issues. How I wish As was over and I can happily go out all day and roam about, or that I have devoted myself into blogging much earlier, and not during this period whereby I am forced to study all the time.

I have a lot of photos and experiences parked in my phone - those that I want to blog about include my first  time supporting my beloved fencers in their competition, (I didn't know Malaysia had a sports school, and I didn't know that we even had fencing as a sport - anyways so gonna take on fencing after As, it's listed right there on the right side on my blog :)) I wanted to do a review for Grin Affair and The Tiramisu Hero,  probably the only few awesome cake-in-the-jars sold in Singapore, I want to write about my Girls' Night experience with Yvonne, whereby we went to NOOKS House of Pancake and the Premiere of Iron Man 3.

Unfortunately, life has been such that I'm stuck here talking to you when I'm supposed to be doing Math. Managed to complete 2 worksheets this afternoon so phew haha. For April, it was a lot of birthday celebrations, Elect Camp and stopping myself from crawling away from reality time after time. In May, tons of lecture tests coming up, and a very grand project - also the last one that I'll be involved in for Interact is in the next month. Of course, weekends are packed too - there is Huang Cheng (bottom right), annnual HCI Chinese Drama club production. Always loved Chinese drama - and HC does a spectacular job every year. This year, my pal Soo Thong's brother is the lead actor HAHA. There has always been a saying that Huang Cheng is dominated by Malaysians, definitely true for senior batches. Not true for us. Here, the juniors are continuing the legacy now haha. Our batch is an anamoly :P And then the Faculty Outings are all going to happen. This year idk what is Athena's theme.. but last year it was WICKED, about witches and wizards.. and I was the fac witch so does that mean I'm gonna get caught this year T_T

And there are loads and loads of good shows coming out this year...

On my watch list there's Iron Man, Fast Six, Star Trek, Despicable me, Smurfs, Percy Jackson, and Hunger Games! So freaking excited I don't even hehheh. 2013 is a good movie year :) Looking forward to all the good movie dates spent with awesome awesome people this year! June holidays I'm already planning to meet my beloved Malaysian bitches and it's got me bubbling with excitement (but I've got to ground myself to stop procrastinating and refusing to do work)

Side note, I've really been into online shopping recently. And yes it was all because of The Tinsel Rack. HAHA They have my favourite set of models - I'm more for Ding Xuan and Cheryl than Melisa tho ahha. I have always wanted to get overalls and it is the picture of the left that got me so excited - also the start of my journey. Later purchased the stripey dress and others heehee.
I've concluded that this unhealthy obsession has to stop tho - or else I'll just spend hundreds online all the time. But for your reference, I prefer The Tinsel Rack and Gipsy Pixie the most, or maybe the occasional Love Bonito. People do prefer The Closet Lover too. And it's also because of this unhealthy obsession I've found many of these models' blogs to share.

One of my favourite models is Andrea Chong, who writes at 1blog2lives.com (@dreachong) I think she is really classy as compared to the average Singaporean, and her bangs are really so cute on her haha. She models for random blogshops too (such as laceandbuttons....) and she radiates happiness and joviality through photos, one of the reasons why I like her so much. Apparently she's also a show host too. But she's also a student >_> which makes me even more jealous. Maybe uni life is as such maybe? The romper she's wearing is so nice I couldn't help but to get one myself haha - I am preparing my lazy wear for uni :P there's a 10% discount for that which I missed - so yeap do remember there's discounts all over her posts!
Next one that I really like to introduce to you is Eunice Annabel, at euniceannabel.blogspot.com (@euniceannabel too HAHA). She has really sharp features, and I think that comes from the perks of being a mixed blood? I think she's just naturally very very photogenic ohmygee I jealous ): She's doesn't even need to have make up to look good - all her shots are really really good!! Her sponsors are even more than Andrea's, I think she is one of those top tier models that people look for - y'know in the same league as LoveBonito's Velda and Rachel. Looking good really has its perks I swear! Anyways Eunice blogs about good food, her party life and times that she spends with her boyfriend Fai - really sweet couple :) You can go and bloghop a bit if you want!
Last person I'll like to talk about is Sherlyn! You can find her at sherylnchanwp.blogspot.com, or @Sherlynchanwp on Instagram . You guys would probably think she's someone like Beatrice Tan or like Andrea and Eunice that I mentioned above, but no haha Sherlyn is a teacher :) It's always nice reading very fluent English, and how she would share her thoughts about God and her relationship. She is in a very very cute relationship (search #yaosher on Instagram if you're interested), sadly that was only after a painful past. But she is a rising star, now that she's starting to be models for plenty more blogshops. It does come with a price tho - her monthly online shopping can account for $500++ heh.
Anyways other blogs you might love to read (in no particular order) includes:
Heh if you wanna look for cute guys I would recommend typicalben.blogspot.com heehee ^ ~ ^

Sorry that this is a bit girl bias hahaha anyways I doubt many guys read my blog please. But nonetheless, I would recommend all of you to check out Naked Glory! They have most classic statements I've seen since a long long time - considering it's Casio, it comes quite affordable to some too! When I first laid my eyes on these pair of silver Casio watches my heart melted omg! I LOVED IT. But dammit hahah no bf to buy for or else I confirm buy a pair. Y'know someone actually told me instead of a bf I should find a girl to lesbo with HAHAHAHHAHA. I mean yea it's possible but HAHAHHAA.            Anyways the world map watch, as you can see below, is the current craze in Singapore, I have no idea why too. But do check out this shop :))

LOL Enough of my advertorials, like I v popz liddat haha. It's just my random bloghopping and stumbling into people's blogs heh. I find the blogosphere a very very interesting one. Like you can find joy and laughter in blogs such as my favourite Audrey's blog (fourfeetnine.com) I find her my favourite among the Cheesie, Xiaxue, Audrey, Bongqiuqiu group(basically popz bloggers group) and hey she's expecting her first child too hahaha. I love her sarcastic posts, super darn funny. That reminds me, previously Aud said that she finds this person in Formspring who is very funny, and after checking it out I totally agree with her haha. Come I shall document her responses before Formspring shuts down for good. I think it's very funny luh, you should read hahahah.

Anyways yeah haha all the crap heh, now I'm feeling all happy and merry teehee. Like this you know:
PS Apple Bloom is like my favourite pony since forever. And will be my favourite one.
SEE SHE'S SO CUTE RIGHT HAHAHA.

Ending off with a very nice and soothing oldie from 张学友 - 在你身边 :)

35 RTIN - Torn

I am super sleepy as I type this post whilst finishing work for my boss regarding socioeconomical climate in Myanmar/Thailand/Indonesia/Vietnam ): I'm very addicted to listening to Torn, by Cassadee Pope recently! It's really good, and I didn't know that Cassadee was the lead singer for Hey Monday (yeap you know the song Candles?) and she's really really pretty :D

Omg I can't help but to justify the alignment because the PW habit or else Covie will OCD >_>

I guess Torn is really what I feel recently. (If you're following me on Instagram and Twitter you could have probably guessed) It's really been a lot of bad stuff smacking me right in my face, and I seem to be finding distractions for myself - I'm like somewhat involved in organizing 3 events.. and more. I'm killing myself omg, and yes I know it. But it helps me take my mind off stuff I guess. Sometimes my mind just unconsciously lingers back to the happy times with him, /stumbled onto a very happy facebook note/ and now he is with another girl :) I guess I feel happy for him! I mean why not, I knew I couldn't commit my time and it wouldn't be fair for him too. Sad thing is just that we can never be friends anymore, and yes I do miss my brother-like figure. On a very random bonus ahah my recent meltdown made my brother to care more for me heeheheehee. He calls me like once every 3 days ^ ~ ^ I'm very very loved haha.

I'm trying to kick the negativity away from me and stay happy. I know only I can conquer this battle, but I do need shields >< I'm incredibly grateful for the tons of people who have been by my side, and I really look forward to just moving on. Based on experience, it's going to take really very very long. But I can't wait for me to be me again. I really need myself back. Oh haha and today I cut my own bangs. I think it still looks okay. I hope it stays that way when I wake up tomorrow hahahha :)

Yes deep down I know I really miss my best friend. But I'm just another stranger to him right now. Sad isn't it, how times just past.
At least she doesn't need the ex-gf to stand in between the relationship now :)

34 Of Birthdays

Today should be a special day, cause it's my birthday. Coincidentally I got throat infection, flu and fever on Tuesday. FML seriously haha. My friend was asking me why I MIA never reply their 12am texts, and that's cause for once I was in bed at 9pm. Who sleeps at nine seriously haha siao alr.

I never believed birthdays to be more special than any other day I guess. It's just like the day you were born - also meant as the day whereby your mum suffers that 9 month worth of menses  intense pain and give birth to you. For someone as teeny sized as my mummy, that would definitely hurt a lot. Mothers are such wonderful beings, they forgo a lot of their habits just to accommodate us - I wonder if I'll be able to survive without chocolate if some doctor tells me that it's harmful for the kid ._. Each of our mothers are warriors.

So I reached the conclusion that we're only celebrating birthdays because...
EVERYONE ELSE LOVES YOUR ARRIVAL IN THIS WORLD HEEHEE. *ego ego*

The best part (and the most awkward part) is the cake!! Even though you'll have to stand whilst everyone sings a song for you (And you just be an awkward turtle not knowing how to do - actually I'll sing along heh *buaypaiseh*),  everyone gets cake later on! Another question, why did people even started eating cake? Isn't it a bit funny how cake is made and people just suddenly decided to eat cake ._. Like:
"hey what's the round thing you got there that doesn't flop?"
"I don't know, but it tastes great why don't you join me?"
... "HEY THIS STUFF IS GOOD!"
wtf right hahahah it's quite amusing.
Shin's motto heeheee.

Birthdays do make you feel special when people's giving you presents and giving you cake, but everyday can be your birthday if you shower you and your friends with presents (okay don't indulge too much)? I don't know I think little notes and stuff are really really sweet on a.. fortnightly basis. HAHAHA I'm a greedy pig.

Anyways this birthday was a really normal one, just like any other day. So here is what is on my playlist today. It's called Autumn Leaves by Ed Sheeran, it's mellow and soothing so I suppose it represents inner peace within me? Click the link and close your eyes :)

Another day another life
Passes by just like mine
It's not complicated

Another mind
Another soul
Another body to grow old
It's not complicated

Do you ever wonder if stars shine out for you?
Float down
Like Autumn leaves

And Hush now
Close your eyes before the sleep
And you're miles away
And yesterday you were here with me

Another tear
Another cry
Another place for us to die
It's not complicated

Another life that's gone to waste
Another light lost from your face
It's complicated

Is it that it's over or do birds still sing for you?
Float down
Like autumn leaves

And hush now
Close your eyes before the sleep
And you're miles away
And yesterday you were here with me

Ooh how I miss you
My symphony played the song that carried you out
And ooh I miss you
I miss you and I wish you'd stay

Do you ever wonder if stars shine out for you?
Float Down
Like Autumn leaves

And Hush now
Close your eyes before the sleep
And you're miles away
And yesterday you were here with me

Mhh, mhh, mhhh, mhhhhh
Touch down
Like a seven four seven
Stay out and we'll live forever now

2 years ago today, I was stargazing and just spending some time alone, then I broke down, for no apparent reason. I don't know is it just a mere release of emotions, or just reluctance to grow up. Today, the same thing happened again. (not the stargazing part heh. I need to control my tear glands somehow heehee) I keep telling myself that I'm legal now, I'm a big girl now. I will have to take things to my stride and be calm and composed at all times. (or maybe not) Instead of the normal "writing to yourself ten years ago", I'm wrote to my 18 year old self :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Shin,

You're now 18, another milestone in your life. I'm glad to say through those 18 years, even though you brought bad experiences to some, you've positively influenced a couple more. People are blessed to have known you and they do love your sweet little thing you do for them, so keep that up :)

I just want you to know that even though things are hard and places huge pressure on you from time to time, you're not alone. You always have your teddies, Ma, Ba, Gor, Jie, and your friends to help you sail through the storm. I believe you will only emerge stronger from these experiences, because God has something better for you. So sail ahead, let go and let live.

The past year has been exceptionally hard on you, but you managed to bounce back faster than I expected you could. Unconsciously, you constantly improve yourself by challenging your own limits, do you know that? That's why I feel that you'll be able to be sensible enough and let your heart to be guarded by someone whom you can really trust in the future. I know it still hurts from time to time, but you know better now, don't you child?

However, you really need to change that stubbornness of yours. I get that determination is a good thing, but some things just won't work if you ram through it. You always head to things recklessly, and this time I would really want you to be more mature, sit down and think then carry out your next course of action.

You get too worked up at times, and then complain complain and complain. You have got to learn to accept the society you're in, it's not going to change for you. It's the sad truth of life, and when you can't change the world, you've got to take the first step and change yourself instead, you hear me? Learn to accept, learn to let go and forgive. It's tough I know, but you'll be able to see the world as a happier place after that. And that's the most awesome part of it all.

You also have to try not to fall sick so often or to stress yourself out easily. Cause apparently I saw a document that said that stress leads to low immunity, which probably explains why you're so sickly most of the time. You make people worry so much when you're sick, you know that? So don't be ill so often that people can't find you.

You know that avoiding things and pushing people away from you sometimes won't work. I get that you need alone time at times, but instead of just being bipolar and shutting everyone out, tell them beforehand that you need the time by yourself. You're giving them the respect they deserve by actually telling people what you're doing and they would give you space if they respect you equally. Being aggressive or ignorant won't solve the problem child, you got to learn soft skills, to soften down the tough protective casing you've placed around you to reach out to people.

Most importantly child, be sure to keep your inner child with you. Even when you grow up and step into the corporate world, your inner child will be the one providing you with smiles and faith to carry on. So don't ever lose that, and don't ever lose your smile. Haven't you heard that the sexiest curve on a woman's body is her smile? ;)

Do love yourself more, because you're worth so much more. Push those negative thoughts that stream into your brain from time to time and promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think you are.

Love, 17yo Shin

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, thank you to those who made my birthday a special albeit sickly one - I now have Mrs Cuddles/Nuzzles from darling fencers; Ice Lemon Green Tea, Kitkat bars & cards from Sammie, Ping and Wanline, 50 flu pills and surgical masks from the Boarding School office LOLOLOL

Better text my mummy to thank her for her love all these years before I sleep, so ciao :)
(PS You should ALWAYS text your mummy to thank her on your birthday, because it's her sacrifice that brought you here.)

33 Bearpaws: Blind spots

There's been a lot of Russian people checking out my blog recently, should I be concerned haha? No offense hehheh, hello there friendly people :) There's been a long weekend after my tests and I managed to take the time off to destress (for once I really believe that shopping helps to destress...)

I know most teenagers of my age will already know that shopping = bugis/far east, but here I would like to offer two cents worth.. what else to spot out for in these places :) And hence, BEARPAWS is born! It's basically just.. signifying that the bear is walking about heh. Bear prints sounds a bit stupid, bear steps too. So let's settle with Bearpaws haha ;)

You'll probably have an idea of how that looks like if you're local, but if you're a foreign reader, this is how Bugis Street looks like: (yes the hustle and bustle is all day long, not sure about the jaywalking ahha)

It's the biggest shopping market in Singapore, and in my opinion, sells the cheapest and provides most variety of clothes :) From food, shoes, shirts, skirts to prom dresses, skin care, mobile accessories.. I think you name it they probably have it :O If you're interested to know more, a famous Singaporean blogger Sophie has blogged Bugis Street at http://sophiewillocq.blogspot.sg/2012/10/bugis-street.html! Take a look!

Anyways, what I found was really worth a mention in Bugis, other than the really discounted prices of shoes (yes Anna Nucci flats for $9.90 is definitely a catch!) and clothes (I got a off shoulder top and pencil skirt for only $20 heh), I found that these adorable things should be given more attention!!

A shop on Level 3 of Bugis Street. My heart melted when I saw the giraffe!!!!
Craftholic plushies which are very popular are also sold there at discounted prices!
Shop on Level 1. Pretty hard to find because it's more secluded, but hey haha it's near the Anna Nucci shop if you're wondering where to find it :) They sell uhm.. bunny jumpers and panda/monkey/bear caps like the one shown below...
Anyways, here's my catch of the day from Bugis, a $17 authentic Anna Sui wallet :) Mine was already tearing apart and I found this wallet was minimalist, whilst not losing its classy and elegant touch heh.

My other catch was this:
I swear that I <3 Taimei is the best bubble tea I've had so far!

It's more milky than KOI maybe, not too sweet for my liking and for me it's just a very nice mixture of milk tea and pearls :) They are also known for their exorbitant prices when selling snacks too (despite the very very positive feedback that says it's really really nice) This is their menu, think that it's really punny that they named their combos after popular Taiwan artistes heehee.

If you haven't tried Taimei, YOU SHOULD!!
There's really no reason you shouldn't try since KOI and Gongcha prolly charge you the same anyway,
maybe it's more inconvenient because it's only found in Bugis (2 outlets) and Raffles Place.
BUT, if you're around Bugis do head down to try :)

I dropped by for lunch at Hot Tomato Express at Plaza Sing, and the place looks like this.. just with so many more people since it's lunch hour. It's pretty spacious even though it's merely a small lot :)

What caught my eye for Hot Tomato was the student meal (HAHAHA #aunty). The meal comprised of a "Chicken Chop N Aglio Olio" OR "Sirloin Steak N Aglio Olio" or "Dory Fish N Chips" + free flow drinks for $9.50. In my opinion, the Chicken Chop N Aglio Olio was $8.50, and so.. unless you're gonna sit there and talk to your friend or just chill, maybe the set is more worth it? I haven't got to compare the portion of the student meal and the main course portion, but my opinion is that student meal size for most restaurants are smaller. Correct me if I'm wrong ><

My Chicken Chop "N" Aglio Olio :)

To be honest, I really wasn't expecting it to be like.. extraordinary or something. It just feels like normal pasta and chicken to me right? Well.. I was wrong, the spaghetti was very nicely cooked with the spice it gave out a really nice aroma, it wasn't too dry or too wet either. The chicken was tender and really juicy.
I thought the only improvement was that they could try to blend the two flavours more..
In other words, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for you to try out this restaurant :)
When I ran a google search, I was like *drooooool* over all the good food photos.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Side note, is anyone interested to collaborate to come up with a list of good and affordable dining places for students? So far the only list is http://www.hungrygowhere.com/dining-guide/best-and-top/5-student-friendly-cafes-in-singapore-*aid-b75d3f00/ and I think much more can be done, for a huge collaboration to find out where do you have the best student deals :)
Leave a comment below the post or tweet me @fuzzycuddlybear :)

Normally when people talk about Far East Plaza, it's probably just about clothes/doing hair/ finding cheap mobile accessories or something. Maybe you can check out these places instead!
i. the burger bar
I actually have never tried the burgers here personally, but there has been a long list of good reviews.
I'm merely highlighting this place because it is one of the few outlets that sells The Tiramisu Hero,
I will be doing a review on it in a later blog post :)
ii. Chippy
HAHA Wtf when I typed^ I typed "Chirpys" haha I bet the boss will feel so offended.
The only thing I know that Chippy is damn good for it's their FRIED MARS BALLS
Sounds sinful right?  You can top up ice cream too! Super delish ;)

Anyways, the one reason I sometimes come to Far East Plaza is this place! It's right near the steps near 7-eleven on Basement 1, and it's quite authentic I suppose, the shop keeper is Korean :)

Rows of interesting Korean chips.. Hmm I wonder if they are Kimchi flavoured haha!
PEPERO that has been highly demanded recently.
Is it cause of the Monday couples' Pepero challenge? Hmm.
HAHAH I took this just to show you that there are so many  different brands of seaweed you can choose from!
But I don't know what's the seaweed for luh, I think you'll only drown yourself in seaweed eating all these heh
For anyone who wants to make their own Korean pancakes at home :)

HAHHA Freaking love Korean cutlery please. The bowl quite kawaii ^~^
And I love the flat spoon and chopsticks! Tempted to buy it home but I know I'll get whacked for spending unnecessary money T_T But there's a lot of other random stuff there.. like the Bibimbap stone bowl! :D

What's a Korean supermarket without KOREAN CUPNOODLES?
Shin ramen (the one on the right) is my favourite despite all the claims that it has plastic etc heh.

They sell a lot of drinks.. with unknown labels. But I always come here to buy limited edition Cokes produced in Korea for my cousin who collects the cans :)

OKAY WE'VE REACHED THE HIGHLIGHT.
THE REASON WHY I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH.
BECAUSE OF THIS!!

HAHA Yes this place sells Kimchi!! They are really STOCKED!
They also sell rice cakes in case you want to do it the Korean way :)
I used to come here to buy a pack of 100g Kimchi (costs me SGD 2.00),
really nice especially when you're watching Running Man HAHAHAAHA

Well, this place also taught me that there are 2 types of Kimchi:
There's Ganna Kimchi (left) and Jung An Kimchi (right)
LOL I won't even bother asking y'all to guess because it's really hard to differentiate (don't tell me it's the packaging omg I also can see right -_-)

Basically, Ganna Kimchi is more fresh because it's made locally and Jung An Kimchi is made in Korea. And it's because of this, Jung An Kimchi is more sour than the normal ones we eat in Singapore because Koreans like sour food heh. And I normally stick to Ganna because I'm not really a fan of sour stuff.

So here I conclude my post telling you about some blind spots you probably would have never noticed heh. Again, if you're interested in collaborating for the mini project, feel free to contact me ^~^ Hope this post wasn't too wordy and that you guys enjoyed the first post of Bearpaws! :)
